The 3rd busiest Airport in the United Kingdom  Stansted, serves 23 Million passengers a year to over 160 destination in over 30 countries. Situated in Essex County it is approximatley 30 m(48km) from London.  Stansted has become popular in recent years due to the number of low cost carriers that have made the airport there main hub.

The airport capacity is capped at 25 million but owners BAA have put in a proposal to expand the airport and create an extra runway and want to increase the capacity to 35 million.  This plan has been approved by the government. The airport has one mainTerminal that supports all airlines and is ideal alternative to the main London airports of Heathrow and Gatwick.
